Tank dent repairs

    Borrowed photos from my uncle's gallery on the sister site Classic pressure lamps. he's got me as a slave in the background polishing the brass work, whilst hes making tools to assisting in Tilley & Vapalux and other lamps tank repairs.

    Camping stove tank repair tool are in the planing and development stages, watch this space for updates on stove tank dents and repairs :thumbup:

    Wow! Shop made tools for just lamps and stoves :shock: Now that I would drool on. Look forward to more pictures.

    Is that some kind of pneumatic hammer in picture 3? I presume that the tools inserted through the openings in the tank are to push the dents out or support the depression as the hammer punches it out?
    would be interested in a fuller description of whats going on if you have time.

    Hi there, no its not a pneumatic hammer,its a photo taken from my uncles gallery ' on classic pressure lamps -under the name of STARLIGHT. He describes what it is . In the fetling section of update to dent repairs...... I can tell you that it is a jet spot stud welder that is used to spot weld a copper stud to areas inexcessable by other means when carrying out car bodywork or repairs to metal panels. And also seems to work well on brass. And there you also see levering tools he made up and a tank brace jig to lock down tanks leaving his hands free to carry out repairs. Hope this helps thanks ;)
