Does anyone know which stove these may be for they were in a tin with a Radius 20 and try as I might I cant get them to fit that burner. Any help would be great. Cheers Nick
I wonder if they are supposed to go on a stove that would normally go in a tin, such as Primus 71, Radius 42 etc. Those tins often rusted away so this could be a quick and easy solution. Just a thought. Could be talking bollocks of course. Regards, Terry
Is it possible that devise fits on the flame spreader and takes the place of the pot supports After rereading I see you had the same thought. Did the radius 20 arrive without its pot supports ? Does this device have any burned section?
Hi Doug and Terry The Radius had its standard pot supports.and the device does have some minor signs of burning. It is very well cut out, both parts which slot together to form the cross are absolutely identical the burner cut out shape is very accurate which suggests to me it is not a home made job. I have vague memories of seeing something similar somewhere I thought that it was on this sight but I may be wrong. I will try it on a standard roarer and see if it fits ,if so it would support a very small pot. Nick Terry, got that Radius 20 going yet mine just fireballs at the moment!
Hi Nick. No, not tried it yet. Needs a good clean and a pump leather. I'm trying to discipline myself to just fettle one stove at a time. At one point I seemed to have dismantled stoves and lamps all over the place. Slowly getting on top of them . Terry
That's a discipline I need to get too! Re the support. I'm sure I've seen it before. The other way up with a holder for a solid fuel tablet as a food warmer.
I think Ross has it, judging from the scorch marks on the metal. The flame spread as it went up. The support is upside down! J
Yes, it is a pot stand/stove but your picture shows it upside down actually and its just missing a small base (where the esbit tablet sits). That is a complete stove in itself and uses esbit tablets. You do not need a stove for that. Ron
Thanks gents I knew I had seen something like it before .You get a fixed idea about something and look at it in a certain way and just don't look further than that! I did wonder about those scorch marks appearing to be upside down but then I had everything upside down!!! I knew you would not let me down! Thanks all. Nick
The First one of you who posted a reply to this query that sends me a private message with an address etc can have it as a prize! not much I know but well done men! Nick
Somewhere in my debris pile I have a gel fuel "Emergency Stove" with a pot stand similar to that one. Mine has little cutouts so it can stand solidly on the opened tin. Yes, it does work. No,it is not worth the expense. A wax 'n cardboard "Buddy Burner" in a tuna tin with a tin can "stove" to hold it is much more effective and far less expensive. After that the rot of Political Correctness set in making the Boy Scout Book both totally inane and useless. Except perhaps as "papel higiénico". Gerry
