    Hi,

I have an all copper/brass single burner which I can't identify. I suspect it may be a home made from manufactured components.

    The markings are as follows.

    Fuel compartment:
    Aurora, Made In England, Kenrick.

    Fuel compartment lid.
    Arvid Bohlmark, Stockholm

    Top of the burner:
    Svea CBEA
    Made in Sweden.

    I have added some images.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Gazza

Is this a production stove? Any idea who the manufacturer may be and can you date it (approx). I have had this burner for 20 years and have finally decided to research it but Google search has not provided any clues.

Hi Gazza, it looks like someone had some spare time & spare parts on his hands! ;) The maker of this stove used a 'regular' (N°5?) fount, blanked-of the top and fitted the 'side' tube. It looks to be a well made stove, most probably used to slide under a big vessel (might have been an early hand-cranked washing machine or a big pot to cook pigs food or such). I have seen photos on CCS of factory made examples. It should be fairly easy to get this one up & working again, and it is certainly worth keeping.

    Welcome on board!

    Best regards,

    Wim

Gazza, if you use the on-site google search thingie you'll find an old topic on Aurora. I am useless with computers so can't make a straight link to the article, but it is there! :D/

    Best regards,

    Wim

Gazza... I certainly looks like a purpose built stove made up of different stove parts and some extra piping.

I like Wim's pig food cooker idea!

Thanks to all for the friendly advice and info. My next challenge is to get it working. Then perhaps I can buy myself a pig and fatten it up with some home cooking.

What fuel would it use? - kero, metho or other. I have opened the container lid and had a bit of a sniff. Even with my big nose I could not detect any obvious odour.

    Thanks,
    Gazza

    Hi David,

Yep, that's the one. My burner is a modified version of the one shown in the link. The images are a great reference. I now know that some of the burner parts are missing.

    Thanks,
    Gazza.
