    Hi,

I have dusted of an old burner that has been in the shed for 20 years and I would like to get it working.

I am a newby. I don't know what parts I need and I don't know what the parts are called. Any assistance appreciated.

Attached is an image of the burner. I know from other images I have seen that the top bits are missing.

More images of the burner can be found in my original Post#276301 .

    Thanks,
    Gazza.

For your burner you need two burner washers. Your vapouriser nipple may need replacing but often not. It needs cleaning and pricking with a Primus pricker or a piece of thin wire smaller than the diameter of the hole - in an emergency I've used the stainless steel wire from a Dremel brush.

You are missing a flame spreader for a roarer burner (see my post on the Hipolito 1 - it has a similar burner so the flame spreader will be the same) which Base Camp should have, but I've also seen them on the Bay.

For the rest of your stove I would get a full set of seals and washers from The Fettle Box; but seeing it's a cobbled together stove, I would measure all the washer diameters (and any holes they might have) and see which of the stove sets is the one you're after. You will need to replace the seal in the non- return valve for the pump - they come with the set from Fettle Box.

You might need a special tool to get at the NRV - you can buy it through Base Camp or online on Ebay - and you can also get the articulated tool for taking out the vapouriser nipple.

You will need to give it a good clean so pull it apart, give to inside of the tank a good wash out with hot soapy water. Put all your bits and pieces in an ice cream container of 50% cheap white vinegar and water for an hour or so, and get all the moving and removable parts cleaned up.

If you go to the Reference Library there are copies of catalogues which show parts. Yours is a bitsa but the names of the parts are the same.

If you need any help just send me a private message. I'll be back from Europe in a couple of weeks and should have a sheet of viton with me for when I need to make an unusual sized seal or washer - if you need one made - but you should be able to get all from the Fettle Box and the boss there is very helpful.
