Looks adventurous! Is there any brand on this meth stove?

The brass burner should be placed on the ground, so that the air can enter through the flower-shaped holes. The flame will be then near the narrowest part of the stove and be more or less protected against the wind.

Very interesting stove. Do you know which country it comes from? Sweden I guess but others may think differently.

Wien is Vienna. So maybe it is an Austrian stove.

 

The stove came to me before I passed it on to JTM. It was part of a job lot I bought from a seller in Austria. Many of the pieces were stamped with the same mark. I always assumed that it was the name & address of the original owner.

Spazierer is German for hiker or trekker.

Spazierer means walker, hiker.

 

maybe it's an outdoors shop then?

that'd make sense - to get a stamp made up seems reasonable for a shop, but not for an individual

 

Most of these early storm-cookers came out of Germany or Austria. Gebrüder Bing was one maker.

 

"Spazierer" means someone who is strolling, going for a walk (for his dogs pleasure), promenading, but it is a family name in Austria as well.

So you have the name and address of a shop, selling outdoor equipment in Vienna, Kaiserstrasse (= Emperor's street), probably gone many decades ago.
