A recent acquisition an early bun footed 00 with tin fuel cans etc.

This stove has had all new washers and I have adapted washers for the filler cap air screw and a lead one for the riser tube.

I have attempted to get the NRV out to change the pip but despite the use of one of Stu's tools it still refuses to budge so I left well alone for the time being. The thought of having to remove the pump tube on this old lady does not fill me with joy!

    Hey, Nick,

Lovely 00, and definitely a keeper!!! I'd love to find one like that, and hope to do so, one of there years! Interesting that Stu's NRV tool didn't work for you. Have you tried filling the tank with hot water, then giving it a go? Maybe some penetrating oil down inside the pump tube? Don't know...... :-k :-k Good luck getting it fully fettled, and hearty congratulations on obtaining this wonderful old stove and all it's bits!!! Brilliant!! Take care, and God Bless!

Nick did you try putting the NRV wrench in a bench vise and turning the tank with some upper body push n turn?
I like the hot water trick also.

Thanks for your comments I will try your suggestions my initial aim was to get it working.
I have had a few NRV heads round off on me lately hence my reticence to really go for It.I have soaked it in plus gas and pumped it with that in the tube to get a bit of pressure to aid penetration but no joy.

I am wondering if my NRV tool needs the slot re cutting as it is showing a few signs of wear believe it or not!

The stove maintains pressure ok but I would like a washer behind the NRV and a new pip just to finish things off.

These early sets are my favourites I just love the thought that went into designing the tins and accessories.

I think she has seen some action as there looks to have been a repair to the burner and the pump tube may have been out.

Fuel tanks are in really good condition and I am still trying to work out which way up the windshield goes.

I have managed to release the stuck NRV in the old 00 by using the hot water tip from Doc, in fact I used boiling water and may well adopt it as standard procedure from now on it was dead easy.

I replaced the pip and put a lead washer under the NRV and the pump rod pushed out under pressure so I took the whole thing apart again and really cleaned everything then tried again same result ! out it came again and I fitted a replacement spring this time and tightened it onto the lead washer a bit more.

    Success!!

Nice feel to the pump action and good pressure and flames.

    Made a nice espresso.
    Cheers Nick

    Hey, Nick,

Well done, Mate!! Congrats on your success, and how's about a nice flame shot of your lovely 00??!! ;) 8) :D Those "all in one" sets are as rare as unicorn droppings in the US, but I still hope to luck into one, one of these years! Thanks, again, for sharing your stove, and your success, Nick! Take care, and God Bless!

I do love those kits with the integrated wedge-shaped fuel cans!
