With the coleman 413 suitcase stoves, is anyone aware if there was a decrease in quality from the G to the H series? Are they all pretty much the same? (Stove would be for practical use, not collecting.) Tim
I prefer the grate pattern on my 413G, but that is purely cosmetic. I have been abusing and misusing a rusty old 413H now for 3 or 4 summers and have had no problems (knock on wood). I had to stuff a little graphite packing into it to stop a valve leak when I first got it, but that was it. Last week I took the generator apart after 2 years and maybe 10 tanks worth of regular gasoline and it still looked good. (I use it to heat water for another project, not for cooking.)
They are basically identical with minor changes in the tank and grate configuration. Gs are extremely common and the designation ran for many years. There are at least 3 common grate configurations-straight bars, circular centers (very good for small pots) and the later shaped bars again to make it easier to use small pots. The Hs all have straight bars. I think the H also uses a unique generator, and the model only went a few years, so factor that into what you want.
