    Hello all
Thanks to information from HaakonJ I was able to buy 5 Optimus 111 roarers for a reasonable price. They are mechanically sound and burned well after replacing packing in tanklid. Both case and burner needed a cleanup. They looked like the men in green had used kerosene for preheating. The two dirty ones pictured are the last ones and I will only clean them and use like they are.As you see in the photo one is already finished in Hammerite.
Then there is two more in some liquid connected to the battery charger. Xmas is coming and these stoves makes great gifts.

Is the one with the decal painted with hammerite? Looks just like the original paint colour and with nice result by spraypainting.

Also looks like you have two well preforming roarers there, congrats!

Looks like a standard finish to me, I certainly have a couple that look the same.

Where did you buy this Rustoleum box? I've been looking for this a long time, I've been using hamerite and a brush on my 111 and I'm not 100% pleased with the result...

Bjørn- What have you used between the burner and the case/box?

    Good Morning, Bjørn,

VERY well done, Sir!! Those two 111's are real screamers, and there is little offered brand new today that can match them, in my opinion!!! Thanks for sharing your handiwork!!! I, too, would like to know what you used underneath your burners to protect the case a bit? Looks nice. Thanks, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    Nice one.
Rustoleum is good stuff I done a tilley in gold and it came out well. Looks like plumbers heat proof mat, good idea.
