When assembling any MSR stove, to the fuel bottle I have always moistened the fuel tube with saliva so as to prevent damage to the "O" ring fuel seal. Last evening when using the stove, in thirteen degree temps, I had trouble disassembling the stove/fuel bottle connection. I am sure it was a result of frozen spit. Though I have tubes of official MSR lube around somewhere, I seem to remember that common wisdom was to lubricate the connection with lib balm. Am I remembering this correctly? Of course the Dragonfly stove started and ran flawlessly. David
Hey, DavidL, Yep, you got it right, except, in really cold weather, I use the silicone tube MSR provides with all their stoves. Works perfectly, and so far, has not caused a problem in really cold situations. Plus, haven't you ever heard about not licking a frozen flagpole?? If you pucker up and use spit to lube your fuel line in deep cold, it "might" freeze to your lips!!!! Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc
