Here is my flea market Coleman 425 E; box rough but stove never used. Mild scuffing on exterior; interior mint or near-mint, with all cardboard bits intact. Will someone on this board hire paid killers to off me if I start using it?
With good used 425E's available for less than $10, I'd think finding one of those wouild be a better idea. Since I have two good used 425E's sitting on a shelf, that's what I'd do. BUT and there's always a but, This is still more or less America, and it's your stove, your call. If someone puts out a contract on you, just offer thirty cents more for a contract on them. The cheap layabouts around here won't offer more'n a dollar or two for having you snuffed anyway. Gerry
Just be gentle the first time. When the time seems right, open fresh can of Coleman fuel and, perhaps, use a little lubrication on the pump.
I know I'm late to this party...1960 is the part number for the manuals, the stove is more likely to be dated around 1976-78 or so. They're not too rare, and a good user should be easy to find. John
I just got one that looks just like that but has had, perhaps, a single test firing. So no guilt on my part turning it into a fully functioning part of my camper kitchen.
