I just acquired a Meva No. 1 stove with a mark on the bottom of the tank 162. Does this mean 1962?
    Thanks

There is a thread on dating them, but Im not sure that the numbers do correspond. If memory serves, my # on the meva would suggest that the stove is 1957, but the paperwork has a # on it that could suggest 1971 (but to be fair...I have no idea of either set of #s). I have yet to document the Meva and the paperwork and get it in the gallery....

    Thanks Dave
I do have the original instruction sheet but no date. Is that something worth putting on the site?

If there isn't a copy already, please put it in the Reference Library.

    Thanks

The instruction sheet may have a print date, the stove will be younger than that...probably...

Im not sure if it is a date. But on my instructions there is a printed # on the lower corner. Im not sure what it refers to, but in the code, there is a 71 as the last 2 #s. I will dig it out tonite.

As Dusan indicates the last two numbers will be the print year, most likely.

So I just checked the stove and the paperwork. On the base of the stove I have 357 stamped. On the paperwork I have

    KHT 05 Ku 651971

I have no idea if this is the correct paperwork for the stove...but dont see why not as I bought this in Canada, and doubt there were lots of outlets for these stoves...

I have tried to place the Meva No 1 instruction sheet in the Library but I am not sure if it worked. I may need some help here. I will see if it shows up there in a bit.

    It worked; surprised myself.
