Picture of this little red kerosene stove is below. I got it from my parents and was able to find data on the label but no luck finding how old it is. US design patent no. 110674 Model # 103. 46302 Sears Roebuck & Co. USA Dimension: 13x13 10 1/4 tall
Have you contacted Sears? There are also copies of Sears catalogs about. I'd try for some in the 20's up to WWII. MY Dad got one for my Mom in the late 40's or early 50's but it was a stand model with three burners. Much easier to live with in temps of 95-110F during the Summer. He also built a screened shelter on the side of the house right next to the Kitchen door. She loved it. Gerry
The first 3 digits of Sears model numbers are the manufacturer's code. There are several lists of these codes on the internet and are easily found by searching "sears manufacturer's codes" or "sears manufacturer's numbers" Here's 103, Central Specialty Co. of Ypsilanti Michigan started to produce machinery and accessories for Sears in the early- to mid-1930s. King-Seeley acquired Central Specialty in 1944. Machinery and accessories with Sears source code "103" were from Central Specialty. These items carried the Craftsman, Companion and Dunlap labels. 103 is also listed as a code for Roper (appliances) and Sarlo Power Mower. My money would be on the Central though as this stove fits the kinds of products Central and King Seeley made.
