    Greetings, All,

I have been dealing with one of our CCS Brothers in some fun transactions, and as a result, I have a couple of French Ignus stoves that will be headed my way soon! But, just the thought of their arrival, stimulated me to check on French eBay, to see if such stoves were offered on a regular basis. Well guess what?!? One was being offered, and the price was actually really, really good!! I contacted the seller, and asked if they would ship to the US, if I just happened to win their Iggie stove, and they said they would definitely do so. So, in for a penny, in for a pound, I tossed out a bid, and ended up winning that stove!!

So, as it turns out, the first Pigeon Ignus that has flown it's way here to our mountain home, arrived, safe and sound, this afternoon!! Here is what I got, and I'll post more photos, and some flame shots, after some basic fettling has been done. Looks like it should fire up with only a new fuel cap gasket, though!!

This stove is in excellent condition, and is complete, except for the original wrench, which I will need to find. I'm am happy, now only to own this one, but to know that a couple of more will soon be flying their way here to our mountain French Pigeon Cote!! Those which will be arriving will need a bit more fettling, me thinks, and one, for sure, is going to need a tender hand in repairing it. No problem, though, as it is fun to finally get into these neat little stoves, and to top it all off, tomorrow is my 65th birthday, and so this first one is a very lovely birthday present!!! ;) 8) :D/ :D/   More later...... Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

Nice score Doc! Very resourceful getting it too.

I have one that came with a wrench. Would you like me to trace it on to some paper and mail it to you? It's really a pretty simple wrench and could easily be fabricated.

    Good Morning, All,

Thanks for your fun comments, and "Une belle flamme bleue photo sera bientôt affichée!" I think that means, "A nice blue flame photo will be posted soon"!! ;) :D/  :D

I've always wanted one of these neat little stoves, and now, on the day before my birthday, it has come to pass!! I am thankful for that fun and enjoyable blessing!! [-o< :D/ :D

MT, your offer if a tracing for of your wrench is much appreciated, and I will send you a PT if that ends up being needed. Right now, I'm seeing if an original wrench might come to hand. But, if that doesn't happen, I will gladly take you up on your kind offer!! Thank you!

I am hoping that, as part of my birthday celebration fun, I can get a few hours to complete some stove fettling and testing that went dormant a week, or so ago! IF that happens, maybe I can squeeze in a bit of time to work on the Pigeon Ignus, too. I'll post the results later. Thanks, again, Gentleman, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    Good Evening, All,

Many thanks for the kind and fun birthday wishes!! With help from David Shouksmith, I know that he, Trevor, and Henry P., are also about the same age as am I. I wish them all a happy birth-year, too, and hope that they spend their Natal Day enjoying life, as have I, today!! 8) :D/ :D :D Right now, Sweet Bride is cooking up my B-day dinner, which consists prime rib of beef, roasted sweet potatoes, sauteed green beans, and an arugula/pine nut/goat cheese/ and "Honey-crisp" apple salad!! Add in a fine bottle of red wine, and well, it's as fine a birthday repast as one could wish!! Thanks, again, one and all, and especially for my Sweet Bride, for all her efforts today!! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

I trust sweet bride is cooking that B-day dinner on an array of classic camp stoves to make your special day complete.

    Good Morning, Trevor,

Happy late birthday to you, my friend!! On what day did it actually happen, if I may ask? I don't mind getting older, and consider it just to be another part of this journey we all share on this Earth. I always say that the quality if our lives, is, to a large extent, dependent upon the quality of those with whom we choose to surround ourselves. Here are CCS, we have a huge number of quality folks, all sharing the same hobby, and that, is an outstanding enhancement to all our lives!! I hope you enjoyed a wonderful birthday, my friend, and here's to many more!! Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Mark

    Hello David and Mark.

I had a nice quiet celebration with good food and a nice bottle of wine.
I was born at two minutes after midnight on 6th.
