You missed out:- they're (often mispronounced as their/there and therefore phonetically spelled as such) - they are. The other one that boils my p!ss is:- your - belonging to you you're - an elision (I think that's the word) of 'you are'. The apostrophe indicates the place of the missing letter. It ain't rocket science... Now I need to lie down...
