Morning all, My first public post here and I am in need. I recently got a nice 9D stove and now I need a generator. After getting into the generator the valve needle is wrung into 2 pieces at the upper end of the threads on the needle. Most of the threads are stuck in the generator body, thus rendering it useless. The correct old part number for a complete generator is 2D62. If there would be any kind soul I could obtain one from, OR, someone who could point me to someone else that may be a source, I'd be greatly appreciative. Thanks for any help you can afford. Mike
Mike, Do you have a picture of the damage of your generator? Also, these stoves will work without the needle. Of course, as soon as some obstruction flew into the jet, then all burning quits. Those generators on the 9D are all brass and can be fixed if the damage isn't too extensive. If I recall correctly, there was a post out at coleman collectors forum where a guy made a generator a long while back for a Coleman 2 or 9 stove. Maybe I'm dreaming there. I think Murph has it, old coleman parts is probably a good place to start. If they don't have it, there's a good chance they'll probably have access to people that have one. Sam
Ken, mine has the valve wrung into 2 pieces, with the biggest part remaining stuck in the generator. So, I'm looking for a complete generator. Thanks!
I've been checking Old Coleman Parts and actually sent an email to Mike prior to the meeting in Lacey, WA, last weekend. As of now, there's not one of these generators there. I did find a link to "The Lantern King" here, last night. I tried to call the number listed on his website and it said "disconnected." Quite possibly, I need to do another search for "The Lantern King." Thanks for all the suggestions and all the attempts to help. I'll will greatly appreciate any further help of any form! Thanks!
Yep! I'm coming. Was hoping to have this old bird running good by then, but I have a few other things to bring. Me & my buddy, Ken Burgess, will be arriving on Friday and leaving on Sunday. We'll be looking for stuff and probably trading some stuff as well. Looking forward to meeting folks!
