Some time ago I got information that one shop is having some spare parts for Optimus 155. Last week I went for a travel in that area and had a change to visit that shop. They didn't had too much 155 spares left. I got control knob, key for NRV (it's longer than normal one) and few packing gasket washers. They still had couple of Sweden made Optimus Novas and Optimus 123 on their shelf . They were complete with instructions and all bits and pieces so I decided to buy them : 123 is still easy to get but price of this one was cheaper than I have seen it for sale so I got. Novas were costing same than cheaper end shops are selling current far east made Novas. So not so bad deal but also not very cheap purchase.
Great find. If you want to sell one of those Novas let me know. Always worth checking out shops. Cheers Jeff
Got a change to visit Tokyo and I thought that maybe some time is good to use for stoving. Our member @YOSH VERY kindly picked up one Manaslu 121 with blue steel case from Japanese auction site for me . After auction we noticed that stove looks like a new and it was when we looked it. Our other member @mayfly kindly gave me a links to Japanese outdoors shops and I succeeded to find three of them in a time that I had free/available for stoving. My Japanese skills are very limited so local help was VERY helpful! Maybe things got a bit out of control... Here are the results: 2 * Manaslu 121 Manaslu 96 Manaslu spares: 2*funnel + 2*jet + pump cup + tank cap with NRV Trangia non-stick cups (red+black) MSR military fuel bottle MSR picker 2*Coleman filter funnel Snow Peak & Evernew titanium pot sets Optimus carrying case for 123 stove is missing from the picture. Most of that stuff is not available in Europe and titanium pot prices are much more higher so I thought that I'll get them. Manaslu stoves were the only last ones that I found from one shop. Two other shops didn't have them. I thought that stove which @YOSH got was enough, but today I lost control when I saw 121 and 96 on that one shop . I just hope that at airport I don't need to pay extra weight fee for my luggage.
Very nice haul. Local help is invaluable and CCS is a great place to find it. If anyone need a Yankee send me a private message. It's the least I can do for all the help I've received from foreign members. Ben
