I don't know if someone posted on this already but I think I've found the origins of the Trangia/Primus gas burner. It's the Primus EasyFuel Duo. The EasyFuel doesn't appear to be available in the US but can easily be found on European sites. Another interesting thing is that according to the Primus workbook, the EasyFuel Duo can be converted to multifuel with a special parts kit that includes a pump and jet. That probably explains why some have been able to run the Trangia gas stove on white gas. Pics of the two below:

I had the part number for the kit and all the details but can't for the life of me find them again online.
Be careful here. The EasyFuel uses a 0.040 orifice of the Himilaya type. White gas requires something like an 0.025 orifice, 0.040 is way too large. The kit shown here uses the newer Gravity II type orifices which will not work on the EasyFuel.
I believe that the 'Trangia' burner head (pictured above) was originally a British Epigas Alpine head..... other stoveheads will hopefully confirm my memory .. the 1st Trangia gas inserts were marked Epigas where now is marked Trangia. Nick

Hi, Installer, WOW!! I'd say that using the Pocket Rocket in such a kit, is not a good thing. Also, as you used a non-Trangia pot, which was too snug, there wasn't enough ventilation to keep things the way they should have been. Bummer for you, though. I've used a Nova burner inside my Trangia 25, without a single problem. Seems like "care" is the watch-word, when trying to rig up something like this. Did you ever find a replacement windscreen? Yes I bought another windshield ( it was a'27') as you say certainly on ebay uk they are available. I have been looking for some sort of liquid fuel setup, but they are a bit pricey new, and don't come up used very often.
That level of aluminum (aluminium) melting would happen with the metal at approximately 1000°F (540°C), probably from direct flame impingement.
Bit of a "Thread from The Dead" but I can confirm that some of the older gas heads were Epigas heads (@brassnipplekey) I am getting my old Trangia cleaned up for a bit of use/experimenting. I've just changed the hose on my gas burner and noticed the Epigas branding, it also has a small preheater loop. Yes, yes, meths, etc, I know the drill, but the gas head was so useful!
