What is the French word for stove? How can I say this in french? Is it possible for you to send to Norway? Thank you So, to anyone good in French, please help me.
Rune, stove = r?chaud (say: ray show); The sentence: "Pourriez-vous l'exp?dier vers la Norv?ge ? - Merci beaucoup." Do you want to know the shipping costs ? "Quels sont les frais d'envoi ?" Hope it helps ...
When I search I use rechaud and sometimes fourneau I use Babel Fish for this sort of question. It translates it as Est-il possible que envoyiez-vous en Norv?ge ? Merci BTW I don't speak French worth sh** PS Slow typing - didn't realise it had already been answered
Try searching for rechaud Rune, Jim is right Jim, run your phrase through bable fish going French to English and you get
That's good enough. May I suggest you shout a bit, that way you get Johnny Foreigner to understand perfectly.
Yes, Rik I tried it too and, as Henry says, close enough It's always of interest to do a reverse though, isnt it? sometimes some real shockers!!
I've always found that if you 'have a go' at speaking some one else's language, even if you get it wrong it is very well received.
Bloke I know did his National Service in Germany during the 50's. At one point, his platoon (or whatever) drove some heavy vehicles over a farmer's field churning up the grass quite badly. The farmer emerged from the farmhouse, ranting and raving in German and waving a stick as he ran over towards them. They were all a bit unsure what to do next and tried to find out if anyone spoke German. One guy said he did and just to leave it to him to sort out the problem... So he went over to the farmer, waved his arms in the air a bit and bawled at him, "VOT IZ ZER MATTER?" The whole platoon simply collapsed with laughter as the farmer strode off in disgust, back to the farmhouse.
You could always try the english way. SPEAK SLOWLY AND LOUDLY!!! SPEAK REAL SLOWLY AND LOUDLY!! PRONOUNCE SYLABLES SLOWWWLY AND LOUDLY!! GETTING LESS FRIENDLY AND MORE ASSERTIVE AND TIME PASSES. Just be happy in the knowledge that every-one understands if you say it slowly and loudly long enough!! If that dosen't work then they must be to thick or something .
Thank you all. Now I will empty France. PS, for those of you trying the Norwegian QXL. This phrases are handy: Er det mulig for deg ? sende denne til USA? (Is it possible for you to send to US?) Hva vil sendingen koste? (How much for shipping?) Tusen takk (Thank you) Stove is Primus in Norwegian
