I am new to this forum and I have been reading a lot of old posts about the msr gk stove. I just recently purchased one and I got a new pump to go with it. I got because of the multi fuel capability. However all I have is the gas jet and I would like to have the "k" kerosene jet. I would like to also replace the pot supports. Can anyone tell if there is an online store that sells parts for these older models. Thanks for the help. I also wanted to say, thanks to this site I now know how to operate my stove.

No place to get parts. You may find another stove from the same era with parts you need.

Why do you want to replace the pot supports?

Thanks. The pot supports are replacements themselves and they are uneven. So I would like to put new ones on there.

At some time REI, when they owned MSR, raised the pot supports of the XGK to reduce the CO levels which also reduced the efficiency of the stove. So replacements can be chosen as original or not.

Thanks Ken. You wouldn't happen to know of a good place to buy the supports?

I think another used stove is a way I would go.
Sometimes an eBay seller tears one apart and sells bits and pieces.
Patience may be the keyword here.

Your absolutely right patience is the key. This particular gk used to have a plastic bottom but someone put a metal one on it. Do you or anyone know what year they switched from plastic to metal bottoms. I am just curious how old it might be?

Take a gander in the gallery and the library of this forum. After a few hours/days you will have more questions.

Yes, the site knows when a link is in the text and makes it active.

I would also recommend for look from ebay. Even here in Europe time to time someone is selling older style (X) GK stove with an extensive spare kit. So I would guess that in US they are easy to find.

Also visits to a shops that has been in same place for a long time pays quite often a good price. Many times old stuff that has been there for few decades is sold with very nice price when they get some one to buy their non-selling junk articles.
