FThey go in my collection and will remain unfired. The re-packaging in the plastic bags was done 7/68. The stove was packaged in the box 1/53. Date on the stove is 1952. for what ever reason I need to create a second and third post to follow this thread. Cannot upload more than one image per post.
Really nice find I was in corespondence with a guy out of Cali he had about a dozen or so in unopened condition it stated. I asked him what the date code was stamped on the tank. He replied 1952. Then replied again saying damn now I have an open box due to purchase request. Was this by chance same seller? Great stove for the collection Respectfully Etherman
Yes it is and they were all gone in 3 days. He had a history of selling many more in earlier listings. They were not repackaged like these were. I suspect these came from military supply stocks, repackaged; stored and then released by the military as no longer required. I purchased these because of the stamp on the stove, 1952 and the packaging dates for my unfired NOS Collection. I only opened this one as there were questions about the packaging validity of the stove and who the manufacturer is after I posted it in the auction watch. These arrived with the container. So I am pleased. Total cost is less than filling my 4x4 each week. I have a food storage vacuum sealer so resealing the package is no problem.
For what purpose to collect if not to gather the Jewels of History untouched but shared. Confucius (Kong Fu Zi) I have others for use.
