Good idea SAM. Nice examples of unfired stove. I like unfired stoves. I like them because some moron didn't mugger them up. And like you SAM, I have Fired ones for use.
Well... That sure got my mind off the stove thoughts I was having all along this thread! Let's see... Oh yeah: Unused stoves (or any collectible) are both a wonderful benchmark for restoration, objects of beauty in and of themselves, and an unblemished record of the makers intentions. So it is a great pleasure to sit back and say to ones self "look at that!" On the other hand I also love beat up grubby non working stoves. They teach even more about the design and function and become uniquely my own when prepared for use.
Hiya Stove People, Unlit or unused stoves, to me anyway, have a certain "aura". I used to collect stamps, and in a sense, mint or unused stamps looked "better" and usually had more monetary value. Below, is the NOS stove I treasure the most, an unused Optimus 111B, from late 1950's I think (it had a cork pip in the SRV). Cheers Simon Foxxx New Zealand

I agree about the Radius 12. It is a stunningly beautiful stove. It would be frustrating for me to own because I would love to use it, but would could never bring myself to do it.
Frankly I don't find it tempting at all to light it. I have actually been having it on display up til now, but after I took the pics yesterday I put it all back in the box and stored it in a dark place. I don't have any problems with that since I see myself more as a collector when it comes to stoves rather than a user. If I would be a user, I shouldn't by far have as many stoves as I do. If I need to use a two burner stove like this one, I have others to light.

Picked this up at a car boot sale. Nothing special but this Optimus 00 was the easiest virgin to lay my hands on.
Sam, I have four unused stoves. One of those goose necked Svea 100's, a Radius 19 and a 20. Optimus embossed case 8 and a MSR X-GK. The Radius 19 is too interesting of a stove to leave as is, I'll have to get it out later this winter. My Svea 100, I need to make a pot stand for it. Duane
