Hi, Today I used one of the leather washers manufactured by Sefa to repair a Chalwyn (Republic of South Africa manufactured stove). The original pump had used a moulded plastic washer, which had failed. Doc has already reported on good results with the smaller leather washers. I was trying the larger calibre ( 2 pint stove variety). I soaked the leather washer in Neatsfoot oil compound before fitting. I can report excellent results. The leathers are well made, dimensionally accurate and they work!!!. What more can anyone ask for. I would certainly recommend them. Best Regards, Kerophile.
Milk, no sugar in the cuppa you just brewed ... But seriously, I have to agree ... & they are the business.! Thank you again, Sefa, for the pump leathers. Spudz
Hello, I received some from him also. They are very good and work a treat. They are better than any you could buy in a store. Chuck
I'm waiting impatiently for a package to arrive from Turkey. I ordered a batch of them from Sefa and can't wait to try them. And I agree, he's a very nice guy and been helpful. A pleasure to deal with on Ebay. tim
i'm happy to report that i've also had very good results with Sefa's pump leathers. installed one in my 00 and they pump like all hell, generate very good pressure. much better than the commercial one I got from A+H. the leather fit the tube snugly and very precisely and seems to hold it's shape well after a good soaking in oil. i don't have a lot of experience with this stuff but the pump leathers seem to be top-notch. regards tim
Just received some of Sefa's pump leathers today. They really are the bees knees! Thanks Sefa. |imgRemoved|
I am in receipt of a dozen of Sefa's pump washers. They look absolutely great - a quality product - and I look forward to finding time to actually give them a try. I have several stoves that are in need.
Can someone attach a link to this ebayer? I once found a listing for someone selling leathers from Turkey, but cannot find it anymore. Thanks, Matt
Here is a link to his CCS Profile: Sefaudi. Send him a private message and I bet you'll get a response.
Hi, this CCS member is called Sefa and here is a link: http:// He makes great leather washers! Regards, Kerophile.
I'll add tuppenceworth. Fine leather washers indeed - On Saturday I used one to fettle a 1921 Primus 96.
I have a few of Sefa's leather washers. I used one in my m1950 stove. Worked great. I soaked it in motor oil for a few days.
Got some of Sefa's pump leathers today. Superquick delivery from Turkey. Got to agree folks, they are just perfect. One of the good guys! Off now to fit one in a Radius 43B .
Hi Jim , What is a 43 B ??? ...... Ive a 43 , Came to me as a metho burner ( Restrictor & large nipple) Now 'converted' to a paraffin burner .... Its a silent burner model , no indication on stove of being anything other than a 43 ..... what is a 'B'??... ok ok ...the letter between A & C ...OR a flower loving insect .... 'B' for benzine ?? Nick
Spot on, Arne. That's the one - nice looker. Nick, I had never seen one either - till I saw it at a car boot sale last week and got it very cheap along with a Primus 96 Sport.8) . So fitting Sefa's new pump leather and also the NRV needs some work/ replacement. Don't suppose I could convert this to paraffin (kero) .
