    Hello

I have an Primus nr. 2 that needs some fettling. Is the nr. 2 Primus similar to the Optimus nr. 2 regarding parts?

i am also fettling a Hovik Standard. Is it possible to use parts from an Optimus stove on this one and which?

I will provide some pictures later of my collection

    Regards

    Hi Jens

Generally stove parts are interchangeable with each other as the makers tended to use the same threads so that they could sell parts to their competitors' customers.

However some continental stoves especially German use different threads and the parts cannot be used on Scandinavian stoves. Most British stoves parts can also be used on Scandinavian stoves however the British half pint stoves used a diffetent thread for the vaporising tube. This was a bit sneaky because the British thread would fit the Scandinavian stoves but the thread on the Scandinavian vaporising tubes would not fit the British stoves. It was to do with the angle that the thread sides sloped at.

    Good luck

    Regards Bryan
