Hello all I had the pleasure to use this new SRV tool to replace the pip on an old slotted screw SRV for an Opt 8. The toolhead had a perfect fit and was a joy to use. The tool heads at both ends are for penta and square SRV screws and they fit very well. Best regards bjørn
Excellent!! I tried to order mine yesterday, but the FB didn't like my password and email address!! I look forward to that being sorted, and to ordering, and receiving the Pentawrench, and the Multitool, both in hardened steel! Thanks for sharing your new tools with us! Take care, and God Bless! Doc
You may notice a colouring to the hardened steel multi-tool, this is as a result of the tempering process. These hardened tools are tempered at 220 degrees which results in what's commonly known as 'Straw' coloured finish to the metal. It looks akin to a kind of a gold anodise, but can be polished back to steel colour if so desired. Cheers
The multi tool does not fit the SRV on my Optimus 8. Perhaps it is designed to be used on something else. Ben
Ben In this post by Bryan it is shown two types of tank lid for Opt 8. You have the oldest with flat top. Which looks to have a narrower slot. My old Opt 8 are not old enough so I cannot compare. The tool made by @Longilily fits the newest type. Best regards Bjørn
@z1ulike Ben, I have made a tool for that type of thin-slotted SRV/NRV by grinding an old file to the correct dimension and cutting a "v" in the centre to accommodate the brass centrepiece. Cheers Tony
