P2160137.JPG Hi all, long time ago since I posted photos on CCS, so I thought it was about time I did... Also, it was about high time I did a test run with the beasty I bought in 2011! It can be found in the SRG, German section. P2160134.JPG

Right, things don't go as they should! Anyway, top photo should be at bottom! Shows 2 burners burning more or less ok, third one not yet hot enough. Bottom photo which should be at top, shows first burner working, next two are still on pre-heat. More nighttime photos to follow but I'll comment on them first. Photo N°1 shows pre-heat, with trippel charge of meths. Still not enough, I used a blow torch to "help"! These (petrol/white gas) burners are solid brass/cast alu/cast steel. Outside temp is around freezing, doesn't help much.... Anyhow, more photo's of all burners working, also attempt to simmer, but that's very unstable. My guess is, one simply starts with all 3 burners and then chooses to continue with only one or two of them. All in all interesting stuff, but not the 3-burner of my choise! (That would be a Coleman or any other P-W or what-have-you, preferably build before WW2:D/=P~:-({|=). This thing was made to be used on a military field kitchen and was NOS when I got it. Fuel container did stink awful however, and all seals were hard as rock, NRV and SRV seized with dirt (most probably gunk left over from evaporated petrol, so at least someone had the intention to use it but never did.).
Hopefully posting photos works sans problemos now....

    Looks like something worked!:whistle:O:)

As you can see, the garden is in a bit of a mess, but I have been busy with building things (till half way last october, when I found myself taken to prison (ah well, felt like it! Could not leave bed/room with all these tubes pinned in my arm:roll:) and prescribed rest at home afterwards. Much work to do this spring.....

    All the best,

    Wim

PS added: the reddish light one can see coming from under the table in some of the photos is the Coleman lantern put under the table, to enable me to make nighttime pics.

When comparing my photo with what's posted in here...I think I need to keep my dayjob...photography isn't my strong suit

    Changed wick and added fuel:
    DSC_0157.JPG

Not perfect - yellow makes my butt look big... Also, there is a intermittent dip in combustion, on and off...air leak mayhaps.

EDIT: A test using the lid from an 8R strongly suggest a change of lid gasket

    Simmers very nice, though

In all, out of the box, it performs above my expectations.

I know, picture quality is ... not the best (soft euphemistic statement 20160227_191332.jpg 20160227_191410.jpg ), but I can't help to post: its my first 111, and i LOVE it, it is going to be my user in the truck trunk.

    Beautiful cherry red shot Heirphoto.
I think in 100 years from now the Svea123R will still be around.
    A timeless Classic.

49 seconds at maximum burn will rotate you into the gravity well, buzz you around the dark side, and and slingshot you off toward Mars..... I hear there's a guy growin' some pretty good spuds up there.....

Stellar stuff, perhaps you could off-set the cost by running the mail deliveries to the ISS!!!

    Seriously though, verrrry jealous!!!

    Best regards,

    Mike.

I'm surprised the table wasn't smashed to bits against the floor from all that thrust.
