This is the my first Optimus 111b stove. Bought this one on ebay. Since I
don't like too much rust or paint chips, I decided to repaint. I used High
heat ceramic primer and top coat. I bought a rebuild kit and replaced all
parts. Then shined up the brass. The pot supports were bad, not much I could
do, some of the plating was burned off. I painted with high heat silver
paint, which will not last long, but at least looks better for the pictures.

After primming, the stove it took right off. I gave a few extra pumps and then
opened the valve, it sounded like a jets after-burner cutting in! I was amazed
of the noise and heat that this stove puts out. I like It! My Optimus 8R is very
anemic compared to this one. The 111b is no back packing stove thats for sure,
but what a work of art. DSCF1503.JPG

A cover shot, from what I read, this was one of the early ones. Maybe from the
mid-fifties. Tools that I made and a flame shot.

    Nice,

I can never seem to get my brass that shiny.

Nice and a job well done.
I like those 111's and that screw driver idea is what I use for those safety release valves. Cheers, John

    Hello Giri
I use Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish, all by hand. Sometimes it takes 2,3 or more times
to bring out the shine. I never use anything with ammonia in it on any tanks, fonts and
such. Sometimes on burner bells, flame spreader.

    Thanks for the comment....roby
