A while back I bought a NIB Svea 123. I had really decided to buy a new Optimus Svea 123R, but since this old NIB appeared on the auction site at a good price…… It is a nice 123 made before Optimus took over, 1958-69-ish if I date it correctly. It has not been tested yet, but since I only have two 123:s it will be pressed into service by necessity and I only bought it since it was a lot less than a new 123R. All in all it is nice to have a more modern 123 . The last picture shows my new stove next to my first model Sievert 123. /Lars

The dilemer an unfired 123. The decision is yours , but may I add if you have another one I would leave it unfired but big but the temptation ?????????? Cheers Rob

Good Morning, Lars, That is a wonderful example of a great stove, and you are blessed to have found it!! If it were me, I'd keep it unfired, as SVEA 123's can still be had at swap meets, yard sales, and flea markets, for fairly cheap prices. Get another user, and keep this gem as a rare, unfired, example of that model of SVEA 123!!! Or, trade it to someone for a really nice, used example, so you won't have "guilt" over firing it up! If you want to talk trade, I have a bunch of 123's, and I'm sure others do, too. Thanks for sharing this sweet stove, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc
Thanks for all the nice comments! I will not fire it up, I have a first model Sievert 123 user. So this will become a shelf queen in the living room bookshelves. I'll post a picture later.... Oh Well, I am still looking for my fathers collection of copper plate coins from the 16th century that I remember from my childhood, but nobody else have ever seen..... I'll make sure my kids know the value of all my treasures well before my passing If I set my mind to collect all different Sievert 123:s, I have at least made a start. /Lars

IX.60... oh wait is it IX.60 or XI.60? my powers are fading BUT before we date your pristine gem to approx. c1960 or later, we will be interested to hear from you what is the print code on the lower left of your front label? Hi, there may be a clue in the Crest on the label of the box. Have a look at this post of a later Svea stove: https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/svea-106-carton-and-label.10635/ In particular, stoves later than 1965, and until 1969/70 had the crest with a Primus Sievert AB marking.
