Awesome job - 199 is on my list of stoves i keep an eye out for - so far, no luck. Ebay prices have gone nuts on these, but i am sure they are worth it.
This stove is absoulty a thing of beauty. Its my favourite and never plan on getting rid of it. As hard as it is to believe, I got this stove off of a webpage similar to craigslist. I showed up to the guys house and he printed of the manual, full stove as you see it, and he gave it to me for free!
To restore a stove such as this, you need to have time and a lot of elbow grease. Most of the black soot comes off with dipping anything in vinegar. the burner assembly was junked up with soot as well. (This is a reason I never light any of my stoves with lighter fluid, kerosene, white gas, gasolene. Any of these fluids emit a black gas which coats everything in soot.) I soaked the whole burner assembly in a carb cleaner type fluid to eat away at this soot. I used aluminum polish and hand polished everything else.
