Does anyone have any film of a stove being made?
Say a 96? any of the classic stoves.
I would be really interested in seing the process from start to finish. 'Here's a sheet of brass' through to ginished product.

As far as I know there are no available film/videos of a stove being made. I certainly have never seen one.
In fact I would LOVE to see one. It might answer a lot of the questions we only guess about stove manufacture.

I've only seen some from Coleman on youtube (one stove, one lantern). A lot of fluff at the beginng but also a brief look at the manufacturing process along with a requisit "we-are-a-politically-correct-diverse-work-force" scene or two.

Not quite a close-up blow-by-blow film of every detail of a stove being manufactured, but this 1913 film inside the Lux factory gives a good idea of production methods - here.

Ian, I am pleased you put a Link to the Lux factory video.
I remember having a few problems making it run from CCSv3 to CCSv4.
The video deals mainly with assembling items. I would have loved it to cover the manufacture of the parts that make the stoves.

Ian, I'm glad that you - despite the title of the site - state that this film is from the Lux factory.

I have been struggling for years now to make the people responsible for that particular clip to change the title, but they still persist to call it "The Primus factory at Essingen - Stockholm 1913" ](*,)

A couple of years ago I tried to explain to some clerk responsible that there is no way that this is from the Primus factory - which they stated back then as an absolute fact - but got the response that it wasn't possible to clearly state which factory at Essingen this was filmed.

Yeah, right... Anyone who knows just a little about Lux could by an instant tell that this is filmed at a Lux factory all over.

Oh, well... After that they atleast moderated the explaining text to say "This clip from 1913 is made in one of the factories 'Lilla Essingen' ".
The title at the page still says it's Primus, though...

Sadly they removed the comment field they used to allow back then.
I had a series of good explanations to show why there were no doubts that this was Lux rather than Primus.

    bureaucrats...

At about 4 minutes there is even a cylinder sitting on a trestle with LUX clearly written on the side.
    Just a small clue perhaps?

Yes, that's one of the things I pointed out to the people responsible for the text.
It's a larger CO2 cylinder used to fill the smaller tubes delivered with the lamps. Primus didn't even make lamps this early. And never used CO2 as pressure medium...](*,)
