    Hello.

I have been looking towards buying a remote gas stove and have came down to a choice of one from three. Primus Easy Fuel, Optimus Vega and the MSR Windpro 2. I have the outputs for the first two at 3,000W and 3,700W but can't find information on the MSR.

Does anyone know the burner output for this stove? Thank you in advance!

Instructions can be found and ownloaded here: https://www.msrgear.com/stoves/windpro-ii

In tiny print on the instructions, The nominal heat input is listed at 3.2 kW.
    7450 BTU/h, 10,000 BTU/h in liquid feed mode.

Thank you, Hazet. I can't see the link you've given to MSR as it comes up as a '404 even the goat knows you're lost' page for me. Maybe it's available for US based Internet only?

But you've answered all I need to know, anyway. Thanks again.

Mountain Equipment Co-op is pretty good about listing stove outputs. In the case of the Wind Pro II: https://www.mec.ca/en/product/5026-913/WindPro-II-Stove

They also say 7450 BTU/hr, but don't list a liquid feed mode BTU rating. 10k BTU/hr sounds reasonable. The BTU output is normally quite a bit higher in liquid feed mode.

    Thank you, Jim.

I've been reading some reviews since this morning and they're three great stoves, all said and done. Each has more than enough high-end output and a good heat range down to a gentle simmer for cooking.

Guess it just comes down whichever one tickles my fancy :)

The other stove to potentially look at is the Kovea Spider. It's not a high BTU output stove, but it is significantly more compact than other stoves of its class. Depending on what your needs are, it may be a good choice.

I reviewed the stove a few years ago if you are interested:

I like the Spider better than the WindPro II simply because of the compactness issue. I haven't used the other two stoves. I seem to recall that the Vega has a much higher BTU output than the Spider.

I'll have a look at the Kovea too, Jim.

Funny you mention it, because I'm planning to carry the stove inside one of my pots so it being compact would be a very handy feature.
