Anonymous old gravity stove

I am not sure this is made in Germany but I suppose so from the embossed text.
Guess it is quite old, early 1900 or so.
Frame of cast iron and tank of steel.
I really like the ornamentations and the style of the control wheel, it is a real art.

So the tank on mine has probably been replaced, a bit sad. The only differernce I can see compared to yours is the text on the front lip.
Now I have to search for the right tank. Believe that will be a challange.

How so?
I'm not convinced it's not already the original fuel tank. There's a close resemblance to the Gerson Boehme Rosenthal model, true, but there are differences to justify not turning it into an approximate copy surely.
Not all G-B-H stoves were alike.

I recently bought anoter very similar but with different shape of the tank. Filler cap is marked Wiktorin.
That is plausable as the made a lot of alcohol gravity fed items.

Is there a reason alcohol gravity stoves are no longer made?

 

They are still being made.
