Hi all, I just purchased another stove (lol I like fettling now) and it arrived today but the letters on the bottom has been polished off with sandpaper so now the date the date is not known. Does anyone know when it was made? Thanks in advance!
Hi @Nsiripunz your Primus 210 stove was made after 1935/6 when Primus adopted the male connection on the riser tube, and the reserve cap on a chain. Earlier models had the male connection on the fuel tank and the reserve cap was "parked" on an upstand fitted on the tank top. It was made before the early 1960s, when this style of Primus 210 was replaced by an Optimus 00 clone. Best Regards, Kerophile.
@Nsiripunz The date has not been sand off. If you look at one of the legs on your stove you have the later type of date system which I think says 1959. The numbers ends, with what I can see on the photo, with 59. By the way, the flame ring look to be homemade. Michael
The large spirit cup with its raised centre and the type of script on the tank indicate the AB BAHCO period, between 1955 and 1964. You will see a six-digit number somewhere (perhaps on one of the leg sleeves?). If that says 59, then it's 1959 and there would have been no letters under the tank to sand off.
Yes. On mine the 6 digit number is on one of the folding feet. The last 2 digits are the year. I think I can see it on your 2nd picture but can't zoom in to read it.
Hi, looks like 201659 to me, so likely 1959: https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/primus-dating-chart-1911-1963.11464/ Best Regards, Kerophile.
