    I have both sizes of pump cups from Sefaudi. The large one was too small for the 1S.
    Any ideas why?

    I do not have the stove, I was at a Coleman gathering this last week and I tried to help a friend.

    I have a 1916 1S and a 1946 1S and the pump cups are the same as any other 2 pinter. I use only Sefa's leather cups.

    Sorry Ken, I didn’t spot your post first time around. I’m puzzled by your reference to ‘both’ sizes. The cups I’ve bought from Sefa have incuded metric sizes for Primus 96 type pump tubes, larger size for such as the Primus No.1, then ‘Imperial’ sizes for Tilley lamp pumps and Coleman of course.

    Alas, Sefa told us a while ago that work commitments prevent him from making any more of his excellent pump cup washers - hopefully not a permanent halt to production.

    My stocks of the genuine article are dwindling very, very low now.

    Sorry Ken, I can't remember. It brings up an issue of which I have been sorely neglectful. From day one of messing about with stoves I have not recorded what I have done. At this time I have little idea of the details of my fettles. If I have to work on a stove it is as though I am starting from scratch. Unfortunately, that includes my Optimus 1S. I vaguely remember that there were some sizing issues with that pump, but I cannot say what I did to resolve it. My hazy memory tells me that I bought a "kit" from Julian at Tilley Lamps and Stoves and that the leather did work.

    Thanks all.
    He had a few pump cups he purchased in Germany, where he purchased the stove, and they were too big also.

    @Ray123
    Thanks, that was what I thought when I brought all of my parts to the Coleman meet to meet him. I planned that those cups would fit.
    The small one, from Sefa, did fit.

    @presscall
    I say both sizes that are for pressure stoves. The small fit the 96 and the larger have fit all of the larger Swedish stoves I have. I do not recall he had those other sizes when I bought from him. I have plenty, but, they just did not fit.

    @BradB
    I think this is the same problem. If/when you recall, let me know.

    @kerry460
    He has the stove and lives in Georgia (USA). I could have him measure the tube, but, it may be a while until we can get that size.

    I have one more thought.
    As I recall helping him try to get this stove working it was obvious that the washer at the end of the pump rod was making the pump cup too large.

    It was not until today that I thought that maybe the washer is nOT original to the stove.
    Can someone post a photo of the 'bottom' end of the pump rod assembly for the Primus 1S? I would like to see what washers are used on other of these stoves.

    Thanks,
    Ken in NC

    Anyone have a Primus 1S that can take a photo of the end of the pump rod, showing the original washer for the pump cup?

    Thanks,

    @snwcmpr, I'll check and pass a photo along Ken. Thought this would have been resolved. Sorry for my negligence.
