I picked up a couple of these up about 10 years ago for 69.95 each. I've found while cooking soup that you have to stir a lot or it gets burnt in the middle. Flame Shots Here is the Instruction Manual Mike
Hi Mike, Your stove looks and runs great. Thanks for sharing. At least with this setup you don't have to worry about the pump going bad. Cheers, Norman
it's a scorcher, nice and stable too, i tried running one with the fuel can inverted.... the phrase 'phasor on overload' springs to mind made in japan the quality is exceptional, beats me why they stopped making them nice to see the carton i did not get that there is a knack to fitting the stove into the plastic carry case but i just wrap an elastic band around to stop the stove escaping
my colleague has the white gas version, he lent it to me for the weekend, i thought i would take some pictures very fiddly to set up, the fuel line is threaded at both ends with a fine thread, the stove will not fold up with the fuel line attached and you need a spanner to tighten the connections the fuel pump looks familiar, it has a coleman style 'easy prime' device but it has a switch so you do not have to keep pumping the snot out of it again a coleman type hole in the pump flat out, you can back it off a bit but not a simmer as such. i must report that i prefer the butane version, much easier to set up and performs about the same (at sea level) white gas better at altitude i assume, cannot comment on that have heard there was a third version with a bigger burner but i have not seen one
I've got a WG. The pump (and the whole "no prime" scheme) are very similar to Coleman. I've not had problems with leaking from the connections, even when only hand tight. Perhaps yours have been over-tightened in the past, or the seals have just dried out? I don't have mine with me to check, but are there replaceable washers or o-Rings? ....Arch
there are small o rings, i think they need to be greased to seal without excessive tightening, but i could easily cross thread the connectors and i find the butane version a lot easier to set up the pump is also similar to the msr - there seems to be a 'generic' plastic pump out there
