    Hi all,

Sefa was kind enough to ask me to evaluate his new improved version of the Enders pump cup leathers.

The original version was much better than what I had been using but the new version is PERFECT!

I had noted 2 minor issues that he has since addressed.

I thought the metal washer was a little thin compared to the original & not as smoothly finished. I will let the pictures tell the differences.

He sent it along with the O rings necessary too.

The only other thing I noted different that version 1 is that this bucket seems to be a little tulip shaped, narrower at the opening than at the bottom. Works fantastic, & I for one, hope he is ready to take some orders :)
This new batch is every bit as good as the orignal in my opinion, maybe better.
Thank you again Sefa for allowing me to evaluate.

Hi Mate, many thanks for your kind evaluation on my latest work on Enders type pump cups. Indeed metal washer is a bit thinner than the original. That is because Germans had made a non standard metal washer on that products. The original measures 13,7mm outer dia washers. During my first trials I tried to get that outer diameter by rasping a standard metric 5 washer. I believe you can imagine how difficult would it be. But later on I started to have these washers from a friend who has a lathe! So nowadays I have good enaugh metal washers for production. But I should say this costs me a remarkable amount. As for the thickness of the metal washer, I can say, if the resistance of the metal washer is adequate, no need to use thicker ones which creates bigger cost and higher postage fee due to increased weight.

How do you write shortly, laughing loud? LOL?
I would be more than happy if I would be able to produce tulip shaped washers. Dear John, I use cylindrical moulds, which yields cylindircal pump cups. I reckon giving a shape of tulip is postage company's carriage gift.

Please see our Mate Prescall's post below about the same issue.

John, I have yet to replace the washer on my enders stove. Brother Sefa also sent me a few to test it out. Looks like the leather cups work perfectly

    Cheers

    Greetings, All,

Well, I was planning to report on my Brother Sefa's new Enders pump leather assemblies when I did my report of the OSG. But, as John has jumped in with a great report, I will add mine! I tried Sefa's new Enders leather assembly with four Enders stoves, which included two military stoves, one regular civilian stove, and one Baby Enders stove. I must say that the pump action with Sefa's Enders' assembly was far smoother, and actually more effective, than the original assemblies, even though the regular pump leathers were soft, pliable, and in outstanding condition. I would hazard a guess that I was getting far more "bang for the buck" with Sefa's complete assembly, than with the original setup. Were I to guess, I'd say that the results were very close to twice as good as the original equipment. Now, even though I consider Sefa my Brother in many ways, I must tell you that, if his leathers did NOT cut the mustard, I would honestly tell you that they did not. However, I found them to be just as good as his regular offerings, if not even just a tad better, because of the great washers and gaskets that came with the complete assemblies. To show you how much I enjoyed using his new assemblies, as soon as I return from working in Italy, I will ordering more of them, so that all of my Enders stoves can be equipped with what I believe is the very best assembly available: Sefa's new Enders pump leather assembly!!! It's winner, Folks, and to use anything less is to short-change the performance of the stoves, no matter which Enders stove you plan on using!! Sincerely, this is a wonderful new offering from Sefa, and I think you will very much enjoy adding it to your own Enders stoves, as did I!! Thank you, my Brother Sefa, for your experimentation, and for offering us yet another of your outstanding stove pump leathers. The assembly is a perfect combination, which seals well, and pumps strongly, with very little effort! What more would any Stovie want?! ;) 8)  :D :D Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

P.S. When I get a chance to post my report on the recently completed OSG, I will include some photos of Sefa's new leathers, compared to the original Enders leathers. You will see that his are far superior to the originals, and after installation, that will be easily proved to be a fact, and not an opinion!!

    O.K.
Here is my assessment of Sefa's new Enders replacement cups.

    1) As usual Sefa's quality of leather surpasses anything else I have used. Mine too came "tulip shaped" so looking at the above reply's not sure why but I actually think it enhances the function of the cup.
    2) The pump action on both of my Enders 9063 was definately improved in both smoothness of stroke and efficiency of the volume of air into the tank i.e. it takes less pumps to pressurize the tank compared to the Enders original cups.
    3) I really like the idea of the oring behind the cup as I think it improves the sealing on the downstroke. The "float" of the cup itself on the upstroke is just enough to add to the improvement of the action.

My overall assessment is that Sefa has done it again. The Enders military is one of my all time favorite coleman fuel stoves and his new design is actually better than the original -AND allows for an easy upgrade and servicability of the pump.

Sefa - thank you for the opportunity to test out your new leather cup and thank you for your continued excellence in your designs.

    Dave

    @the red squirell

I understand that Sefa ( @sefaudi ) is not able to provide pump cups at the moment.

Contact The Fettle Box - link on this page; there may also be someone else here that make them.

Gotta say it just once, then I'll shut up. Squirrel is spelled squirrel, not squirell.
