Hi everyone! I was curious if those who have used both Duossal and Hard Anodized Trangia sets could tell us how they thought they compared to eachother. Thanks!
Can't say much of the Anodized pans, but I love my Duossal 27. With all its additions I have crammed in to the set, plus the large Trangia Billy it comes in at a heavy 3lbs. Given half a chance I would get the Anodised pans as well. I just adore Trangia stuff..
Greetings, I agree with Andrew: the Duossal sets are our most favorite, period! Easy to use, easy to clean, very even heating, and even though a tad heavier, the best, if you like to cook! Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc
Hi Moot point, they don't make duossal anymore (but buy it if you find it). I have just one Duossal pan, the larger of the two in a 25 set, the other in the set is nonstick. I like either for making pasta sauce using cartons of tomatoes, over plain aluminium (you can taste the taint). Otherwise plain aluminium has worked fine for me in all other situations. I have anodised cookware which is also good, just don't dishwasher wash it. I would say try different types and keep what you like only don't get conned into buying titanium. There's a reason why the first three letters are that way you know .
I was fortunate to buy one used and I do like the duossal. As said, easy to clean though a tad heavier but thats the trade off. Ron
I have a 25 model Duossal that I like very much. Unfortunately, they are near impossible to find now. I was just curious as to how Trangia's duossal replacement, hard-anodized, compares to the duossal in usage etc. Once again, I have regret not buying a duplicate when I had the chance. But if hard anodized is just as good as duossal then no worries.
But now they do. again! :-) see http://trangia.se/en/camping-stoves-series-25/duossal-2-0/ They announced Duossal 2.0 on their facebook group in October. Not sure if the new series have reached the stores yet.
There was a brief sale of the Duossal series in Canada recently. And I just got a 25 Duossal set from a friend that got it recently in France. So, they are coming, I have heard .... soon. USA .... They are listed on the Liberty Mountain site. Trangia Site: 25-21 UL/D (120251) Windshields in ultralight aluminium. Saucepans and frypan in Duossal. Weight 1130 g. 25-23 UL/D (120253) Windshields in ultralight aluminium. Saucepans in Duossal and frypan in non-stick. Weight 1090 g.
They are "sort of" listed on Liberty Mountain. Site update appears to be in-work. No pics yet and some of the prices are $0.00. (Great deal, if you can get it!) I'll be checking back with them in a couple days. ....Arch
I've been buying the fry pans to use with my sigg traveller pans that are 20+ years old and going strong - apart of course for the lids which in use as fry pans have suffered due to the firejets heat output. I did look at making up a trangia type nest but the sigg pans do not fit in or on the trangia windshields. we have a non stick trangia set and i can't really justify a new set just for my cycling. the sigg pans though are awesome, the duossal stuff I do have is similar quality so I'd jump at any more I could get hold of.
I see $84.99 as a price for both the 25-21 DUOSSAL STOVE KIT(The one with Duossal frypan) & 25-23 DUOSSAL STOVE KIT (The one with a non-stick frypan). I just called Liberty Mountain. That is the retail price and they are waiting for Trangia to let them know of the shipment. So, it may be very soon. If the black box kit I got is a pre-release packaging, I may not use it, but buy one of these then they come out. Ken in NC
I've got a 25 anodized and a 27 Duossal. Wish it were the other way around, as I'd like the 27 to weigh as little as possible. Will probably buy another 27 someday with anodized pots and non-stick fry pan. Come to think of it, I'll probably buy the Duossal pots and pan for the 25 as well. It never ends, does it? I agree, Duossal is the best Trangia has to offer. I didn't think so at first, as it's so darned heavy, but I've recently re-thought my uses for the Trangias. For me, they aren't the perfect backpacking stove, nor the perfect car camping stove. However, they excel as a perfect "picnic" stove, and lately I've been thinking that picnics deserve more credit as a legitimate outdoor pursuit! Regards, Ridge

i like the duossal frying pan despite the lack of a proper handle the rest of it stayed in the box. am i missing out on something? i do not get on with pot grippers and i am not into zen - so meths burners are in a silly place in my opinion i recently saw a butane adapter but what it really needs is a locking handle that won't fold up or fall off
