Apart from the lack of pump and no wick in the priming tray is there any diffeence between the X2 and X2A stoves by Bulin? I bought a x2A in error but borrowed a pump and it primed and ran ok although above 3/4 it had yellow flame tips on white spirit. 3/4 on petrol was about the same heat as full on isobutane which was still my most powerfull gas sove
i really like bulin stoves, they are well made and affordable, i have the x-2 which i consider a whisperlite clone - the multi fuel version comes with 2 fuel line and jet assemblies one for butane one for liquid fuels i have the butane only model, i got the stove, stuff sack, cardboard box and instructions and including postage from china, it cost less than a msr maintainance kit the multi fuel is twice the price but you get the bulin metal pump, spares, a multi tool and fuel bottle and extra fuel line i can report that the bulin butane fuel line and burner will fit perfectly into a whisperlite chassis, i had to file the edges a bit to make it fit but i now i have a 'classic' whisperlite that runs on butane - just the job for a sunday walk
i forgot to mention that you can put a whisperlite fuel line and jet into your bulin without any modification, i have done so and you can then run your stove on gasoline with the msr pump
before you hit the bs button the pot rests on the bulin are heavy i am looking for something lighter the bulin fuel lines are a bit flimsy - other than that i can't fault them
Thats possibly the answer I didnt want. I complete change of fuel line to run gasoline could mean a butane version has a hose not suitable for gasoline and a different size jet
I'm not sure mine is labelled as Bulin, but it is identical. It works very well once I have managed to get it to sit properly in the base of the Trangia (early 80's T27 if that makes any difference). Never had cause to try it with an inverted gas canister though. Regards John
i recently bought one, this adapter and some other bulin products are currently being sold in the uk under the 'go systems' brand, a bit more expensive but you can buy them over the counter and not wait for them to turn up from china i have tried the adapter on a trangia 27 - no soot! my own attempt at an adapter was a bit ott i have returned the soto to it's original configuration
I have the Trangia gas conversion. Works great. It also will run with the canister inverted. I've had no problems with over a years use. I think I paid $20.00 au from Ali express.
