@Sdarmstrong Wow! Loving the blowtorch in the dark - looks like a rocket engine! Might even be tempted to get one myself and if I do, it'd be your fault! Baz
Once again, I've been down in my workshop 'pottering' around. Todays project was to make 16 bird nesting box kits for my Scouts to finish off and assemble... ... and in the background, I had the soundtrack to a Hurlock playing ... ... I like the way all the bits fold out but if I'm being honest, it gets very hot in use. So I dragged out my RM331 and ran that too .... ... stereo! But I was worried about the Hurlock getting really hot and over pressurising. My other, non-running Hurlock has a split in the fount from top to bottom, so I decided to turn off the Hurlock. Whilst draining it and putting it away, I inadvertantly left a Monitor 17b on the side whilst shuffling everything around. So I had to light that... ...which reminded me of the excellent, non-original tin graphics. The caravan on my tin has a black stripe and 'Baz' written on the side, all down to a bit of skulduggery. At some point, I did actually finish with the nesting boxes and it was getting dark, particularly when I turned off the workshop lights! So I turned off the Monitor and lit a Tilley lamp instead! ...it's always handy to walk back up to the house with a Tilley lamp to ward off any evil spirits that may be lurking in the shrubbery! Baz
My 199 burning Kerosene! It looks this good with naphtha also. The night shot I took was terrible so this is all I will post. I tried to burn some methanol but all it does is sputter! I had the alcohol restrictor in place. Perhaps someone can direct me to the diagnosis thread. If it were a carbureted car I would say it was vapor locking.
The "S" jet is a lot bigger, and is needed, along with the restrictor, to use alcohol as a fuel. I am not aware of a work around for that. Ken in NC
@Matthijs I like the photo of the wood stove ablaze very much - and a fine set of photos altogether. John
Thanks John, the last year I became a daily user of all sorts of stoves on my balcony. @goldwinger11 The korean insert is sold on ebay by kkn4602 , search for: silent damper for optimus 8R an alternative is finding a burner from a Enders (9061D) which also fits on a 8R, preheat twice and it works perfect:
