@Longilily I will be coming down from the Newcastle area with @Spiritburner on the Thursday.
Having the facility and freedom to so do so, I arranged my trip meetings directly around the immovability of the Newark weekend, so spend a short week in Newcastle before, and a long weekend in Deal after, moving eastward from there.

Lovely place Ostend, with some historical sites nearby (Fort Napoleon and Raversijde (Atlantic Wall)) and its own small airport.
If Belgium is included in your travels Rob @Robtz give us a call!

    Best regards,

    Wim

@Wim at the moment my travels do not take me to Belgium, not directly anyhow, but I have a 'loose' week in Paris (there to see a man about a dog) so if I have some time I will PM you.

@Spiritburner and @brassnipplekey - I have PM'd you. I'm looking forward to making contact and meeting you and @Longilily (and the others of course) and enjoying your offers of transport, equipment and support for my ab initio attendance at Newark.

I leave in two days and arrive on Sunday (U.K. time). I will be off-line while traveling. For those that need it you have my contact details while in the U.K.

    Regards all,

    Rob

On topic - off the map : I do not recall any gatherings here in Norway. Someone should arrange this at Høvik :-)

@haknuts Long time I have been thinking to propose Nordic Stove&Lantern&Blow torch meeting at Three Country Cairn where border of Norway, Sweden and Finland joins together:

    http://www.kilpisjarvi.org/en/attractions/three-country-cairn/

There is a wilderness hut near to that at least on Finnish side where there is area for tents & etc. Also fuel tanks could be transported to there by boat from Kilpisjärvi. Participants could approach the spot from their own side so we would not interfere the peace of neighboring country. (Carrying stoves & gear could be too challenging...)

End of August would be good time since no mosquitoes any more and no snow yet. I haven't proposed this publicly since in Sweden they have their Primus meet around same time so maybe meeting at Lapland would not work for Swedes. :-k

Apologies for disturbing 'UK stove meeting' thread....

    I'm on the way....
Current plan is to arrive early eve Wed.

Hopefully not a last minute throw things in the van and hope they work when we get there.

@Spiritburner, looks like I need a few nipples Ross, would it be possible to purchase a few? I've clearly used all previous spares. :(

Pizza oven will get a trial run this weekend, just to make sure it still works you understand. We'll also bring the Fettlers Arms 'snug".

I have a slight request. Not essential but would help me a lot if there was a pitch for our van near the toilets. That way i might be able to manage without using my scooter. As i said not essential but would be very appriciated.

Hi all - just a reminder of where we're camping & the map also shows the additional toilets that will be there again this year. Please camp in the same area as last year, know as the paddock & we will stretch out into the bigger field as required. There may be some non-gathering people camping in that area already

Don't forget you DON't pay at reception (I collect fees over the weekend) but they will direct you if you've not been before. I strongly recommended getting a swipe card for the site barrier for a £5 deposit if you are going to be leaving the site during the event to save bothering the warden if the barrier is down.

If you're a late arrival & reception is closed please don't push the intercom for the warden. Please park up on the track leading to the barrier & walk around to the rally field & borrow someones card to get in. I'll be onsite from Thursday tea-time. My phone will hopefully be on! 07 76 60 38 612

    See you there!
