    Hello All

I came across this vaporizer, smooth top, no rings and stamped SWEDEN. The other
more vintage types that I have, do not have any markings. It came off of a Svea 123
stove, but not the Sievert type. Has any one ever run into this type? Or is this
off of a different stove, 71 or 80? I do not have these.

    Thanks...Roby

    Mornin' Roby,
    Thanks for posting.
Would like to see more of it but i'll take a blind stab at it, with what I see & hear from you...

    Yes
Has any one ever run into this type?
    Yes
Or is this off of a different stove, 71 or 80?
Yes, I mean, guess it could have been on a 71 or 80 at one time.
    I do not have these.
Oh No. My man, you better "get some!".
    ---
That should be a quite common Optimus vaporizer.
Me "The Svea 123 production line moved / changed with the Optimus take-over c1970. Sievert's Sundbyberg factory closed, any/all stamping of “Sievert” on stove & parts ended. here (where credit goes to Ross and 2009 discussions).

At that time, (it's highly likely, maybe already confirmed on CCS I don't have a link). That, at that time, Optimus began using their same rizer on 3 of their stoves :
    > Optimus SVEA 123 (at the time, initially could have been boxed in Sievert box w/Sievert instructions). and their
    > Primus Trading Co. No. 71 (Optimus made) and their
    > Optimus No. 80

It's still mornin' here, barely. I opened sayin' "Mornin" but all I was thinkin' was what a night !
    thx again
burnin the candle at both ends (turned clocks back),
draggin ass today ! (and can't get this smile off my face)
    peace out omc :content:

    Greetings, @roby03 ,

For a definitive look at the SVEA 123, in all of it's incarnations, please peruse and enjoy the following link, in which @exeter_yak, (Doug) spent a huge amount of time, trying to make sense of all the different variations of this wonderful little stove!!

    https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/svea-123-research-project-prelim.11516/

Pay close attention to the burner, the fuel cap lids, the engraving on the tanks and windscreens, and all the other details that Doug took into account when he wrote and shared this excellent information with us all!! I wish he was still active here at CCS, but his life is full, and quite demanding of his time, with work and family. He still visits, on the rare occasions, and I love it when he drops in to pay us a visit!! In any case, compare all the goodies that he pointed out, to your burner, and your answers will be forthcoming!! Have fun, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
    Doc

    @roby03

I’ll go through my small Swedish stoves today and see what I come up with.

I’d like to see what it looked like on a 123...

    Cheers

    Tony

Can you also post a photo (photos) of the stove it came off of?

    Hello All

Thanks for the comments. Here is the picture of the stove that the
vaporizer came off of. No stampings on the burner bell, flame spreader.
Fuel cap is the slotted type, and the key is the older type but not sievert.
The tank is not sievert either, no extra ring in the fuel tube.

I did service the cap and vaporizer and polished all parts except the tank.

I have a vintage Svea 123U never used with all parts with the smooth vaporizer,
but no stampings. It came with the Max Sievert pricker and old brown box.

    Thanks...Roby

I've never seen a slotted SRV of this style on a 123. It is an early Optimus and was used on the 80, 8R and 111.

I have similar keys on my Optimus Svea 123's. These keys were also used on the 80. Could be a mix of Opti 80's parts on a 123 tank.

    Hi Roby03.
I have one Optimus 71 with the marked Sweden vaporizer tube. (see pic).
My other 71 has a ringed vaporizer. I also have a shorty 71 with a slotted cap but no marking on the smooth vaporizer. (see pic).
I also have never seen a slotted cap on a 123 but have two 8r's with that type.
    Hope this helps.

I wish I had a first version. I hope you don't think I meant they never had the slotted cap. I have just never have seen one in my grubby little paws. I should have been more specific. Apologies.

    Hi again Roby03.
Please describe the "extra ring" in the fuel tube.
I don't know what you are referring to and I would like to know as I am new to this.

    Hello All

Thanks for all the info. Looks like my vaporizer is
off of a model 71 or 80 stove. Someone put it on a Svea
type stove. The picture of the 2 stoves, shows the Sievert 123
stove on the right and the stove on the left is a Svea 123.
Look down on where the fuel goes and one can tell the difference.

You might have to zoom in a little.

Many thanks to all for the info and great pictures.

Ken, I am sure you know that the slotted cap is not original equipment for the V1 Sievert 123. The proper cap is the one with a round end, and a single hole in it, with no flats on the sides. Again, I'm sure you know this already, but for those that might be confused, there you have it. Take care, and God Bless!

    Every Good Wish,
Doc (who loves his V1 Sievert 123, bought from the original owners, who purchased it for a float plane camping trip in the Northwest Territories, back then!!)

    @roby03 ,
re: "Looks like my vaporizer is off of a model 71 or 80 stove. Someone put it on a Svea type stove."

Reminder, at the time of the Optimus take-over of Sievert pressure stoves (incl. the Svea 123), at that time, your vaporizer was used on all 3 Optimus products:
The Optimus Svea 123 (is what you have)
    the Optimus No. 80 and
    the Primus Trading Co. No.71.

Optimus slotted filler caps were used on Optimus Svea 123s.

all, to see an example of roby's Optimus Svea 123... i'll try again, a recap, bear w/me here,

this is the same link I posted above.
[ again me "(where credit goes to Ross and 2009 discussions). ]

That opens my comment, all the text is relevant but scroll down to next page and a link.
Ok, before you click that link, that 2nd page pertains to roby's stove, those instructions were with Ross's Optimus Svea 123 exactly like roby's.
Same vaporizer, same filler cap, no Sievert stamping.
Ok, click that 2nd link, scroll to this Ross comment:
"This one is a bit older" ... that was Ross's Optimus Svea 123 (in 2009), an exact match to roby's.

    Ross next comment/line is:
"Again no inscriptions anywhere except on tank & this is the filler cap."
and you see his slotted cap.
BTW it is just those 2 lines and 2 pics that apply to roby's stove.
    thx omc
PS Sorry Ross tag @Spiritburner , this may be of no interest (8 years later) but I've referenced you quite a bit above, hence the courtesy tag.
