Looking for this size, pref metal, plastic is ok. Cheap is golden. The spout should be straight and as close to but not greater than .500 inches. Shown is a plastic one I cut down, but the spout is a few thousands to big so I have to jam it in.

Turns out I didn’t need to cut the relief, It will still sit under the bell and stands nicely straight up. The wide spout let’s me see the fuel level as I pour.

Cheap, but very good little stainless steel funnels on the Bay of Evil. I have two sorts and they both work well with the 123.

    Cheers

    hi ken,

over here, Vapalux sold a very nice all steel funnel with in inbuilt brass mesh filter. It came with their paraffin mantle lamps in the kit and you could buy them as extras. They were made in the UK by "Su-Va" and this name was embossed on them. They are still available on evilbay. They are perfect for filling tanks in small quantities of liquid as they have a half round hood on the funnel which helps when filling curved tanks. I cant find a photo but if interested let me know and I will take some photos for you. I think base camp still have them. I bought x3 from ebay for GBP£12 last year.

Also, I have previously bought a set of very teeny weeny plastic fillers from evilbay. They were from China and cost GBP 3 delivered. They came as 4 different sizes all nested inside each other. They have proved very useful for filling with very small amounts of fuel.

Check cooking stores for small stainless steel funnels. They'll be cheaper on the bay, but sometimes you want to see before you buy.

I am interested, even if GeneH isn't. Also, what search terms are you using on evilbay? I just ran a quick search and came up nil.

Thanks as always for taking the time to respond - but am I the only person that sees all the funnels having strongly tapered and smaller diameter spouts, as well as more narrow angle and taller funnel?

I'll check the links and suggestions ... suva...Vapalux... but overwhelmed by masses of funnels w/o good dimensions or expensive by the time I add shipping for just a couple. It's darn tough being picky.

Notice how straight the spout is and how wide my funnel gets right away. This plastic one is a bit brittle so I don't expect it to last long either.

I really did spend time in the local stores - hardware, target, wallyworld, BB&Beyond without success. Spouts are invariably the wrong shape and size. Have a pair of the Coghlans for lanterns but can't see down the spout. Checking

...should have purchased the Trangia fuel bottle. ](*,) It's going on my Christmas wish list for sure! Maybe Fathers Day!

I'll try to check Walmart tomorrow for the silicone funnels. If it was easier to find dimensions of the one's Tony suggested on ebay that might help.

@GeneH I think @Tony Press has more or less come up with the same idea that I had for filling my Stesco coil burner which has a very small filler port. I ended up using the steel funnel that came in a hip flask set.

I just put in a 300 ml and 1 liter Trangia bottle - I think the smaller one was $14, free shipping off the Bay of Darkness. They are pretty much the ticket, I have to say, as the fantastic red Nalgene fuel bottle has gone with the dinosaurs. I'll make up a hanger and use the 1 L for kero and the smaller one for "meths" on the boat.

It would seem that an inch or so of vinyl tubing at about fifty cents would go to adapting any old funnel down to a smaller diameter. Boil it, stretch it over a handy mandrel. . .

I’m going to find a seller with a picture showing those exact 3 funnels. The smallest one is perfect to stay in my pack kit, the others on the bench.

    Thanks Tony!

Hi, I always consider a filter as being a desirable element of any fuel funnel. With pressure stoves and small jet apertures “cleanliness is next to godliness”
    Just saying....

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

    @kerophile & @GeneH

On the point @kerophile just made, I make filters for all my funnels (without a fine brass or stainless steel mesh) by taking a new white fibre dust filter that is used in modern vacuum cleaners and air conditioners (they're about 1/16th inch thick), and cutting it to the shape to fit the bottom of the funnel. You can get many out of one sheet and they are very good filters.

    Cheers

    Good point.
I filter when I fill the small container.
