A fairly nice white knobbed early pot support style Optimus 22 kero burner. Didn't really need it but I guess I wanted it. I like CF stoves but I think my heart belongs to kerosene! lol Looked like the PO had tried to fire it with little or no preheat so was all soot covered and filthy looking. At least that is my observation. Gave it a quick wipe down pumped it up came back after a couple hours all looked good so had to give it a go. I'll give it a good cleaning and do the gaskets and such in the future as time permits. A good preheat and it burns fiercely. My new favorite!
111 is VERY nice stove. 22 must be double nice! Unfortunately here 22 never appears for sale. Also I wouldn't need it but sure I would buy it if one comes for sale...
I've become the owner of our families 22 third generation in the process of rebuilding it as it. it is a bit beat up after 50 or more years hard use. Now looking for a 111 as its a little more suitable for carting around by motorbike
I'm surprised the 22 isn't common in Europe they're everywhere in NZ I inherited the family one from my brother who considered it rubbish as he had got a pristine example at a garage sale for $5.00 which is less than 10% of what it cost me to get the old one running again
You caused me to check our version of e bay--- called trade me,I believe this model sold well here the price is good on this example trade me.co.nz
Hands off the 111 I'm bidding on that so I can have a pet for my 22 got a fairly nice 8 r last week it was rather expensive but hasn't seen much use
That trademe link now has 3 bidders all members here (including me) I know at least one of the other bidders has one of these
I'm happy with the beat up 22 I own I'm chasing the 111thats there also as iwant the smaller stove to use. I did get a bit side.tracked in my buying however and aquired an 8r ,so all going well may yet end up with a family of suitcases
There's a camping store here in ch ch that has heaps of parts for kero stuff if you need to rebuild that 22 ,I've got a lot of Tilley stuff from them
