a friend of mine cooked on an 8R for years in Alaska, i mean it was his only stove. he still has it, he's been in Alaska for 20 some years now. i bet he'd say the 8R was his favorite.
i like the 111B. it is about as convenient as they come. my opinion has nothing to do with camping or weight or other considerations. i just like it. i like to cook on it. i traded a nice Coleman Solus for the first 111B i acquired and had to replace the NRV in it. it is a great runner and easy to cook on.

Depends a bit on conditions here (and stove-mood 8])
    199 or Enders 9063/Baby:
A brew in windy conditions for 1-2 persons.

    8R with BD cap:
1-2 persons on a campout or for a brew in quiet surroundings. Simmers well.

    111T:
Family/friends trip in quiet surroundings. Indoor running on meth. Simmers well.

    111B:
    Family/friends trip in windy/harsh weather.

I like the Optimus 99, even though I don't currently own one.
I like my Optimus 199, even though I have not had the opportunity to use it much.
I like Radius 46, and kinda regret having to sell the couple I've owned in the past.
If a Primus 71 in its original box case can be considered a "box stove", then my nickel 71 is at the top of my list.

    Ummmmmmm,
    Primus 41 for car use
    Trangia for back packing
Any large stove for base camping
Also any double burner for base camping
I also use an Optmus 8r Russian clone in the hut ( can’t beleave how well it works, I also have a real Optmus 8 it’s good too)
Also a Primus 96 for hut use.
The 71 does not seem to be used (ummm no reason really, maybe it will be in the next rotation)
The 123r needs a go too.
In reality there are too many to choose from, even though I have much less than others.
It’s nearly time for the next rotation of stoves, I will think on that ☝️

    Cheers

Oh nearly forgot, I use a Frankey Primus 1 with a regulated burner ane boxed with fuel, windscreen, and silent burner on big trips. It’s the one I teach others the way of liquid stoves. Most get to really like and use them.

    Cheers

Favourite is a Primus 41, closely followed by my 8R, with Optimus 111T/Radius 43/Army No.12 in equal third place.

If you count an M1950, it would slot into place between the 8R and 3rd Equals.... Well, its a cylindrical box I suppose....
