Your opinions, paint the 3 piece or leave it brass

    I agree BRASS, all you can get, but in reality it is up to you. In any case if you paint it and later if you decide to remove it it’s easy.

    Brass would match the pump but I would replace the screw with a brass one. Red paint matches the fount. As it's not mine I wouldn't be fussed either way.

    As you have a fount colour that appears unique (to me anyway) don't need to identify the stove in any other way. If the fount was the bog standard colour and had a patina I would propose a third option,,.... paint it in a contrasting colour. If you go to stove gatherings yours would then be immediately identifiable amongst the crowd.

    +1 on the brass 3-piece cap and as Harder says, a brass screw would also look nice.

    painted 3 piece cap.

    you're missing the clip or the two screws that hold the pump to the tube. or at least it's not installed in the pics.

    It's a clip due to the age of the fount but the original fount used screws.
    I just didn't put it on yet.
