Here's the hugely domesticated and stylish Primus 535 kerosene twin burner, and the Turm 39 "nur spiritus" single burner
@David I got my 535 purely, and solely, on the fact that Chichester had one on board the Gipsy Moth. Having read and re-read the book and with this kerosene collecting interest, it was something that one 'had' to do and, because one can. I have had the pleasure of using it on many occasions and enjoy it immensely.
Wow @Robtz it's such a heavy weight though. It's a lovely stove, I think we cooked pancakes on it about 12 years ago. I've just been checking the pump, it's all good. Still got plenty of fuel in the tank ☑️
Gipsy Moth story some may not have read. https://classiccampstoves.com/threads/gipsy-moth-iv-primus.1410/
Thank you @Simes I've got the book or read the book of the epic voyage. He fried flying fish that landed on the deck during the night. Or was that the Hiscocks on one of their Wanderer yachts?
@Simes , Thanks for posting that link, Mate! I was reminded about sending Master Pugh two NOS rebuild kits for that stove, and it was wonderful to read as much of "the rest of the story" as can be told to date!! I do hope that stove ended up in good hands, and that someone who appreciated it for what it really is, now has possession of it. Interestingly, that's one stove I've not found for myself. Lots of others that look similar, and function very well. Guess I'll have to follow @Robtz , lead and suss one out a good, serviceable Primus 535 for me-self, one day! Thanks, again, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc
Hi @Doc Mark I'm not sure what the final outcome was, GMIV is still sailing about here after recovery, but the stove question I think remains a mystery. My impression from the time was that a local NZ member was looking into it but the story went cold. https://www.gipsymoth.org/
