I am trying to get my 2C running. I am concerned about the mechanism for the second burner. Mine only has a metal "shoe" that slides back and forth. When I look at the "shoe", I only see a thin piece of metal with a hole/slot in it. I am concerned that I am missing part of the mechanism that control the 2nd burner. Any info or pics would be much appreciated. Thank you
Thank you! If all you have is a metal, sliding "shoe" under that 2nd burner then what I have is probably complete since yours seems to function perfectly! I am soaking the screw that holds the burner plate with kroil right now. Thinking that maybe is I can see inside the burner I can see how that little slide on the bottom works and if it looks like it will control the flow of fuel to the 2nd burner.
@NW Lady Took the burner off the stove just for you! I never had to take it apart further than this but the brass colored pin in the center of the first picture must be on some kind of a spring inside the burner gas tube just before the second burner. Probably easily accessed once you take the top burner plates off I would think. On this pin must be some sort of small baffle plate that goes up or down depending on how the wedged "shoe" (your word) is manipulated with the handle that you pull to open the gas port or push to close the gas port to the second burner. Now in the second picture...Port closed to second burner with the wedged "shoe" pushed into the stove with the handle. It forces whatever baffle plate that is attached to the brass colored pin inside the gas line closed. Effectively closing off the flow of gas to the second burner. NO GAS to second burner. Now third picture...The wedged shoe pulled out of the stove with the handle and the spring allows the baffle plate to rise which opens the gas port allowing gas to flow to the second burner. GAS TO SECOND BURNER. I hope this explanation is right and if not someone please feel free to smack me!!! Runs while he still has a chance!!! lol
