WOW, very nice one Ross! Where do you keep finding these? It looks as this is an old'un ('20's the latest?) yet it seems to have all the original fittings. Does it work? Regards, Wim
A beautiful stove and a complete original one at that. It looks as if it shouldn't take much to get it running again, if not already. It would be good to see some shots of it going.
I can't remember if it works or not - another one to try out. These are actually old shots from my gallery on CCSv1. With running the site one of the things I neglected was actually adding my own stoves in favour of other contributions & literature. Now folks can add there own stuff here on CCSv3 I need to catch up! That came from an antique shop in Kirkby Stephen that is now closed down. He used to get a lot of stoves from traders visiting the Appleby Horse Fair - any stove from there could have had a 'colourful' history.
Day off work today doing a second hand shop explore found this bizarre looking device any guesses as to its age.
While it isn't totally original my Corona is sporting a Optimus silent burner and i had it running it needs a bit of solder at the base of the air release valve but the rest of it is fine The monitor which donated its burner has received a Hurlock burner so I have a type#1 stove now as I've not seen one in my searches.
Hi you may / may not have seen my general enquiry re the possibility of locating a genuine cap for my newly acquired no 5. Press asked that I post up pics of the burner on my no 5 but as it seems you may be the only one with a genuine cap could I ask if you would be good enough to send me pics from all angles and measurements. One thing I can't tell , does the outer cap fit on top of and ,slightly overlapping the 'upturned outer burner' or fit between the 2 fixed caps on the burner with a rim /lip overlapping. I hope you can assist as I'd love to get this going even if I have to commission making a new cap. Regards. Allan
