    Just picked up a Phoebus 725 in good used condition.I paid $25.00 USD for it.Did I get an OK deal or did I over pay?The tin still has the original instructions and spare parts bag.It has seen some use but is not beat up by any means.

    Another question.Can Coleman fuel be used in place of gasoline in this stove?

    You got a good deal on the 725.

    Coleman fuel works great in these stoves. It you go to Walmart you can find Crown camping fuel for $7.64. It works fine in stoves and lanterns. Coleman fuel in around $13 per gallon.

    Cheers,

    Norman

    I normally buy my Coleman fuel at estate sales and get it for about $2.00 a gallon sometimes as little as $0.25 per gallon.

    Depending on the condition of the 725 - it seems like a good bargain. Pics would be nice *hint ;)

    They make two style of tins...yours round?? You don't NEED to clean it up, we still like pictures.

    I paid $20 for my 725. It really cranks the heat and is good for tasks like melting snow.

    Indeed, Coleman fuel will be quite superior to pump gasoline in the stove.

    Seem to be a sticky residue on the top of the tin.

    @junkman

    As @teckguy_58 said, “... you got a good deal...”.

    I would say, for that stove, in that (apparent condition) you got an excellent deal.
