Can anyone help me? I have just picked up a Beatrice No33 and it does not have the correct filler cap. What did the original look like, (the pictures that I have found on CCS are not quite clear enough for me to make it out. And does anyone have a spare one? Getting on with fettling it anyway. It has loads of corrosion, but the enameled cast irn tank is very good. Thanks Steve
Just finished a lot of cleaning and rust treatment and have found the date 1901 on several parts. Wow, that is 110+ years old. Also found a little old lady that runs an old fashioned ironmongers shop, and guess what? She had a wick to fit it. Cost me a whole £1.00! She has a whole draw full of wicks so I am going back to make her an offer for the lot. Now I need a sheet of Micra for the screen, and I still need to know what the original filler cap looked like. Hey Steve, glad to hear you can find the wick size for that cast iron stove. As far as cleaning is concerned, to clean it up nicely would be to sand blast the stove after which you can apply hi temp barbeque grill paint on it or what ever choice you wish. The mica glass I see on ebay but the size may not be the correct one but you can ask the seller if he can do a cut-to-fit for you lovely Beatrice. Good luck Ron
Hi Steve Have some pics but as you will see the filler cap is well beaten, But i guess it gives you some idea. Not overly sure the top should be concave either, More than likely convex originally, but being that old i guess its entitled to a thump or two. Ray Mica is readily available and very easy to cut to size, I've done it myself. Back on monday !

Hi Steve I run mine on low odour white spirit instead of paraffin, it burns much sweeter on this but dont expect super speed cooking times on this stove though it takes an age for boiling a kettle,but it's really nice for simmering Best regards Stu.
These "stoves" were not designed for cooking but for heating up a saad iron for ironing clothes. Ooh they will work for cooking or simmering but that is not the design. lance

Another Beatrice 33 with a well worn filler cap here.... I presume it was once threaded but the threads are long gone, so now its just a loose drop in / fall out fit Does anyone know where I can find a replacement or know the thread size so that I can try making something up?
