The only box is for the Optimus 81 Trapper. I'm not getting any more stoves. lol. Last one I bought was about 12 years ago. I'm on the maintain cycle now Marge keeps them classy
12 years! You're a stronger man than I. Stoves seem to throw themselves at me and I just can't seem to resist.
...its not an addiction....its a passion. People who are addicted go to meetings, while those that have a passion go to antique malls, and boot sales.....and scour the internet....and......
Herself has allowed 3 lanterns in the house, in odd corners. My stoves, even the wee ones are banished to my workshop shelves...
@David , That's a very nice collection of stoves, Sir! I have a "few more" stoves, and both of my home-made shelves are chock-filled, with no more room for additional stoves. Downstairs, in the Hobbit Hole, resides many, many more stoves: in boxes, on shelves, and stacked up on each other!! I fear I'll never have a place where I can actually display the bulk of them!! Sigh....... Addicted? Well, you might say that, in that, just like it is with @Marc , stoves just seem to find me, and how can I refuse to give a needy stove a home!?!??! As for having them in the house, Sweet Bride actually likes me displaying some of them where we can both see and admire them everyday. However, we've been so busy these last several years, that stoves have found their way into the front room, just stacked up in one corner, and they really shouldn't be there, at all!! SHEESH!! IF we had a big garage, all our stove storage problems would be solved. Hopefully, when we finally move out of California, we'll make sure to get a place with a big garage, and maybe a nice, big shed out back!! Getting back to your stoves, though, David, you have all the bases covered, and in truth, don't "need" any more stoves. I'm glad that you are happy and satisfied, and no longer pushing yourself to get ever more stoves! I do believe that you, Sir, are the only known survivor of the Dreaded Stove Pox!!! WOW!!! Take care, and God Bless! Every Good Wish, Doc (who should say to himself, "Physician, heal thyself", but simply cannot bring himself to utter those words, when it comes to stoves!!)
I do something similar with my collection. Need to build a third shelf section to take the place of the black shelf w/ the clock on it. The gaps in the left shelf are where my Dietz Jupiter and unknown Japanese lantern go, in service elsewhere at the moment. Hope I don't get tarred and feathered or run out of town on a rail for posting not only lanterns, but wickie crap no less.
Damn you've got me thinking about shelving again.......and I have recently seen a glorious way of doing things. Pics to follow when I can do it.
My small "brassie" collection plus a couple others. These are on the screened in porch. My wife actually wants me to expand the wood wall and shelves and fill it with more stoves, lanterns, and kettles. I am the hold out. Brad
@Marc , hey, don't disparage the wickies! I love my small collection of Dietz lanterns and use them regularly on the screened porch. The Aida and Colemans I have out there are too bright for just hanging out on a quiet evening. Brad
@BradB I love my wickies for lot of reasons, I just know that they're not highly regarded here or on the sister site. I was poking fun, no disparagement intended.
